Kingdom Work Who was it that said Summertime is slow around the church? Well, let me take this time to remind everyone that just because you may not be here does not mean we are slowing down. In fact, we have had a very busy summer of ministry. Now that fall is here and school is back in session, we enter a new season of Kingdom Work for God. In October, we will receive the latest class of New Members. Our Junior High youth will complete Confirmation studies while the Senior High students finish their refresher course on Church and Methodism. November will see the completion of our Wednesday evening study on the Prayer and Devotional Life of United Methodist and the beginning of our Church-wide Advent encounter with “The Journey: Walking the Road to Bethlehem,” a five week study by Adam Hamilton. We will have special-time worship opportunities with a mid-week Holy Communion service on October 19th and a Thanksgiving Eve service with Holy Communion on November 23rd. These activities only begin the list of gatherings and ministry events we look forward to as 2011 draws to a close. Our Sunday School classes, small groups, children and youth have additional plans which provide exciting opportunities for the Spiritual Growth of all ages. Mark your calendar! Invite a friend!
